Through fundraising activities, they hope to increase the size and number of the scholarships in the future.Applications for scholarships are accepted from students currently enrolled in full time studies in Canadian college or university programs. - To promote and maintain efficiency and high standards of practice in the metal casting industry for the benefit of the public by developing training programs for, and providing funds for the training of, individuals engaged in the foundry industry.Promoting and maintaining efficiency and high standards of practice in the metal casting industry benefits the public by training young people with the abilities to support foundry industry production. Foundries are a key component of the manufacturing base, and castings are the first step in the value-added manufacturing chain and are utilized in the manufacture of most durable goods. The Charity plans on working with industry partners (including the American Foundry Society and the Canadian Steel Trade and Employment Congress (CSTEC)) to develop and promote training of individuals in the foundry industry. The Charity will, in the future, develop foundry based online training for the foundry industry across Canada. Training would include foundry specific programs, in addition to those currently available through CSTEC, for general purpose training such as Health and Safety and skills training programs.
